About The Department

History (General) || Year of Establishment: 2009

Baneswar Sarathibala Mahavidyalaya was established in the year of 2009 in rural area of Baneswar. It is situated in the core area of different culture, language and religious beliefs which lies in the middle of two districts of West Bengal. For the importance of basic knowledge in language, social studies, humanities etc. there is great need for general program course in this area. The course was started at the time of establishment of the college respectively as it is the only state aided government college for kilometres around. There are seven subjects so far that are taught in the college, namely, Bengali, English, Education, History, Philosophy, Physical Education, Geography. Geography and Phy. Education were established in the year of 2016. For being capable of successful career these primary subjects are essential for the students. The college faculties take every responsible steps when it is in need for the welfare of students.

History (Honours) || Year of Establishment: 2015

History was included as a subject of study in the arts stream at Baneswar Sarathibala Mahavidyalaya, Hatiduba, Cooch Behar from the time it was founded considering the necessity and demand of the students’ of the surrounding areas populated mostly by the villagers. History department is one of the college’s oldest departments which have been active constantly in serving the students. The department has provided young minds access to the incredibly rich and diverse world of History literature. Over the years, many deserving professors have facilitated the department with their utmost efforts. There are sufficient reference books and journals to operate the department. The History department has been responsibly making efforts to do its work.
